My business has nothing to do with music! Why should I care about having an orchestra in Dayton?

Philharmonic performances keep cultural dollars in Dayton, as concert-goers eat in area restaurants, visit area shops, park in area parking facilities, stay in area hotels, and pay taxes on these services. Our children's classroom learning is enriched through DPO music education programs that take place in 260 area public and private schools. The Orchestra's presence enhances the region's quality of life, helping chambers and businesses recruit other businesses and employees.

What can partnership with the Dayton Philharmonic do for my business?

"Over one-half (56%) of those with an interest in the Arts say they would almost always or frequently buy a product sponsoring arts or cultural events over one that does not."

"Almost one-half (48%) of Americans with an interest in arts and cultural events expressed higher trust in companies that sponsor these events."

Greater Dayton businesses may become involved with the Dayton Philharmonic in the following ways ----

Concert Sponsorship

Sponsorship of a Dayton Philharmonic concert offers your company much community exposure through print and radio advertisement and in-hall recognition and much entertainment value through concert tickets, valet parking passes, and pre-concert and intermission receptions. All sponsorship options will enable your organization to maximize its support of the Orchestra to further its advertising, marketing and public relations objectives by demonstrating its presence and commitment to the quality of life in greater Dayton, while entertaining clients, executives and employees in a sophisticated manner.

Education Program Underwriting

By helping to underwrite the Dayton Philharmonic's 12 children's education offerings, your business is making an investment in Miami Valley's future. All Philharmonic education programs make our region's schools stronger by enhancing our children's ability to learn their classroom subjects through music education. According to The College Entrance Examination Board, children who receive music education at an early age score higher on standardized tests such as the SAT and reading proficiency exams because early sensory and motor development influences later cognitive, perception and language skills.

In 2002, high school students whose school careers included music study or appreciation scored 64 points higher on the Verbal portion and 43 points higher on the Math portion of the SAT than their peers who had no arts coursework during their tenure.

Last season over 90,000 pre-school through high school students of 260 schools in 15 counties benefited from the learning advantage provided by Dayton Philharmonic education programs. For more information about these DPO programs, please click here.
